Sustenance (Nov 16)

At times we may become weary. We may feel lacking. We may feel weak. God is there promising to be our sustenance if we trust in Him. He is Jehovah-Jireh—God our Provider.

Psalm 55:22

Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

When you are in a time of need, cast your cares on God. Trust in Him and he will sustain you. He will keep you from falling. Sometimes we worry about provision. We worry about a lot of things sometimes. When times get hard and we worry about making ends meet or putting the next meal on the table, I think we're forgetting about something. Or rather, we're forgetting about someONE. God is our provider.

Philippians 4:18-19

18 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odor of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God. 19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

God knows when you need encouragement. He knows when you need strength to get through another day or to do something that He has called you to do. He knows when you need to hear something in particular from His Word. He knows when you need to be chastened. He knows when you need to be woken up. He knows when you need provision. He knows when you need anything. Will you trust Him? He will be your sustenance.

Luke 4:4

And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

I will trust God. He will be my sustenance.

Psalm 17:15

As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
