Keep about your work (that God has given you). Do not flinch because the lion roars; do not stop to stone the devil's dogs; do not fool away your time chasing the devil's rabbits. Do your work. Let liars lie, let corporations resolve, let the devil do his worst, but see to it that nothing hinders you from fulfilling the work that God has given you.
He has not commanded you to get rich. He has never bidden you defend your character. He has not set you at work to contradict falsehood (about yourself) which Satan and his servants may start to peddle. If you do those things, you will do nothing else; you will be at work for yourself and not for the Lord.
Keep at your work. Let your aim be as steady as a star. You may be assaulted, wronged, insulted, slandered, wounded, and rejected; you may be abused by foes, forsaken by friends, and despised and rejected of men, but see to it with steadfast determination, with unfaltering zeal, that you pursue the great purpose of your life and object of your being until at last you can say, "I have finished the work which Thou gavest me to do."

I just saw this post by accident. I am glad I did. God just answered the question to a terrible problem I have been having for around at least 19 years now. I thank God, because that was quick! Very Quick. (I know less than an hour, but it felt like in 5 minutes really, though it wasn't literally, felt like it)
I am thankful that He used you to find that and to post that. It's funny, God uses technology to answer our prayers instantly as well now (if He chooses). Funny.
Oh, I found your blog by typing in Returning to Your vomit in Google. I read it and sent a question, but actually this one answers my 19 year struggle. Please do also, if God commands you to post an answer that's fine--but please only do it i His timing (like if He doesn't move you via the Holy Spirit to answer that for years, then that is perfect--His timing is awe--you posted a blog (the original blog that I found in my search) in I think July of this year, it is Christmas Eve and 11:22pm of 2008 and I just was blessed by it.
This one by the annonymous chap is the one that was the direct answer to my question--who knows who or when that was written, but I God used it to directly answer my question. Also, in passing a radio broadcast on my elsewhere, I randomly heard a preacher talk about how Mary did not attempt to defend her character when she was found pregnant not by her husband (but of the Holy Spirit--but even God had not told her Husband that initially, because even in the first chapter of Matthew--still on the King James Version's first page of the New Testament I think, Joseph was had set in his mind to divorce her privately so that Mary's name would not be dragged through the mud or the street if you will.
I know that God can help others by using others. That is wonderful. I hope therefore, that the lessons that I learned today, on the Christmas Eve of 2008 will bless others struggling with false reputations.
Also, your reputation is what others think of you. Your character is what God knows of you. I read that as a child I think in the paper.
Great.
